Through participatory installations, individual impulses accumulate, intersect, reinforce one another, compete, disappear, acquire visibility or encounter resistance. Desire becomes movement, exchange, friction and consequence.

Questions of access, value and influence remain embedded in that movement. What is allowed to advance? What can be accelerated? What can be acquired? What remains outside the mechanisms capable of transforming intention into possibility?

Participation does not simply contribute to the work. It alters its trajectory.

Each desire introduced into 1-800 DESIRES enters a shifting collective configuration. These contributions are not preserved as a passive archive: they become material for what follows. One project generates the conditions of the next.

In this continuous displacement, individual will and collective force coexist without resolving into a single direction — overlapping, interrupting and transforming one another, much as they do within life itself.

The work therefore remains unfinished by design.

It moves from desire to action, from action to consequence, and from consequence toward another beginning.
